Questions you need to ask your contrator:
Ask at least these questions to ensure a professional and trouble free installation:
1. Can you offer a lifetime warranty on my system? We offer a lifetime warranty on all systems installed by us, using the Brass line of fixtures. The Copper line of fixtures offers a 15-year warranty. Both are designed to eliminate the worries of a landscape lighting system. Most warranties offered by other 'professionals' will include only a 3-year limited warranty. Upon closer examination, you will usually find that just about anything voids these warranties.
2. What about wire and transformer overloads? Every system should be checked with an Amp Probe to ensure that no wire or transformer is overloaded.
3. I have seen some lighting systems where the lights close to the house are bright, but further ones get dim. Will every fixture have the same light output? This is very important since all fixtures must have the same voltage. The best way to ensure this is to have them on an Equalizer Hub. Then all fixtures produce the same light output.
4. What is the required minimum voltage to the lamp? The minimum voltage to every lamp should be between 10.8-12 volts to ensure maximum efficiency and lamp life span.
5. How often do the light bulbs need changed and will there be a yellow color to the light cast upon my landscape? All of our fixtures come with a high quality Halogen or Astro-Brite lamps that will last between 4,000 to 20,000 hours giving you years of trouble-free operation. By far, the majority of lights installed by other 'professionals' will only last up to 4,000 hours. Most importantly, the lamps we use produce white light that preserves the natural color and beauty of your landscape. |
